Hydration Hacks You Haven't Heard Of (Yet!)

If your skin still feels tight, dull, or flaky - even though you're drinking loads of water - you’re not alone and not imagining it.  Many women (especially if you're in perimenopause or menopause) find their skin doesn't hold onto water like it used to, and this can change drastically with the seasons.

But just like a spring meadow, your skin thrives when it's hydrated, which helps it feel healthy and glowing.

Here are seven under-the-radar hydration hacks your skin will love this spring.

1. Hydrate in Layers – Not Just Once With A Moisturiser

Think of your skin like a sponge. If it's bone dry, water will run right off. But if it's slightly damp, it absorbs much more. Apply hydration in layers: a cleanser that doesn't strip your skin, then serum, then moisturiser (and if your skin is extra dry/dehydrated, a facial oil) - this traps moisture and plumps up the skin.

🔹 Try this: Cleanse first with Reset Cleansing Balm, apply two pumps of Replenish Hydrating Serum to damp skin, follow with a moisturiser Revive Multi-action Face Cream, and finish with Restore Radiance Booster to seal it in.

2. Use a Humidifier at Night

Central heating and dry air pull moisture from your skin overnight. A bedside humidifier can help create a skin-friendly environment so your skin holds on to hydration while you sleep - especially helpful if you wake up feeling tight or dry.

3. Eat Your Water

Hydration isn’t just what you put on your skin. Spring produce is packed with skin-loving water content - think cucumber, berries, and even leafy greens. These foods boost hydration from the inside out, especially when paired with essential fatty acids.

🔹 Try these hydrating foods and a bonus tip: add chia seeds or ground flax to your meals. They’re great for skin barrier health and hydration.

4. Press, Don’t Rub

How you apply your products matters. Pressing serums and creams into the skin (rather than rubbing or tugging) reduces irritation and helps lock in hydration more effectively.

5. Time Your Routine

Apply hydrating products within 60 seconds of cleansing (this is when your skin is most receptive). Waiting too long can cause moisture to evaporate, especially in dry environments and warm rooms.

6. Hydration Boosters for Hormonal Skin

Skin in perimenopause and menopause tends to lose water more easily. Look for ingredients like ectoin, hyaluronic acid, and niacinamide to restore hydration levels without irritating sensitive skin.

7Don’t Skip the Oil

Dehydrated skin needs water and oil. A facial oil (like Restore Radiance Booster) helps lock in hydration and prevent transepidermal water loss. It’s the final step to keep your skin supple and glowing.

The Bottom Line:

Hydration is about consistency, layering, and nourishing both your skin and your body.

With a few tweaks, your spring skin can feel just as dewy and fresh as a morning walk in nature.
